would it have improved our team’s chances in the World Cup?
I know it’s good not to expect everything from Sachin but except Raina none of our batsman looked to be in good touch and our Top order is flopping big time. This team had lots of batsmans who played in the bouncy tracks of SouthAfrica in the first edition of the tournament but what happened to them now is the question in million minds of India.
If Sachin agreed and played would we had a better top order batting performance?.Murali Vijay certainly flopped for us:(
I just said we could’ve done better with our batting guys.Sachin was in good form in the IPL season.
Superstitions in cricket, I doubt there are as many superstitions in any other sport as there are in Cricket..But there are some famous superstitions belief i found out !
1)Sanath Jayasuriya clearly pats his pad and adjusts his helmet after every ball he faces.
2)Mahela Jayawardena always kisses his bat after every stroke.
3)Sachin Always wears his left pad first, and still uses the old buckle type pads.
4)Steve Waugh always carried a handkerchief given to him by his late grandfather.
5)Jimmy Ammarnath also carried a Red handkerchief in his pocket while fielding.
6)Ganguly always carries a photo of Guruji while batting.
7)Atherton would never give an interview if he was ‘not out’ overnight.
Well those are some superstitions I came across. Another really interesting incident occurred during Kumble’s famous 10 for bowling effort against Pakistan. In that match as a superstition Sachin would take Kumbles sweater and hat from him before every over he bowled and hand it to the Umpire as part of a superstition.
On the theme of superstitious or dreaded numbers we have 87 for Australians. Considered to be the Devils number, 13 shy of 100.
MS Dhoni unstraps and straps back his gloves before every ball (Not any more)
Malinga used to kiss every delivery when ever he is gone bowl for the batsmen (Rarely does that now a days)
So Do you seriously believe in these activities done by these great players and do you think it would have worked for them !
MS Dhoni fetched maximum votes (26%) for best ODI Batsman followed by Sachin and Ponting with 22% votes each.
54% of the respondents think IPL is not good for International cricket.
Total respondents were 4000.
Do you agree?

Sachin Tendulkar’s historic 200 vs South Africa. This is our college mess (IMT Ghaziabad) where the TV is. Its for the first time when Indians would boo a MS Dhoni six, shout “Haye Haye Dhoni” as Sachin wasn’t getting strike, then cheer when Sachin got the strike and simply explode when the legend went to 200. Awesome…hail the God!!!
I guess all the cricket fans know what a great game that was! Hats off to the legend. First man ever to score a double century in one day internationals! India vs South Africa ODI 2 Gwalior, India February 24, 2010 After playing the greatest innings of all time the little master speaks with Ravi Shastri during the presentation ceremony.
