I thought of a few points that would hopefully banish the demons surrounding Indian cricket in the T20 format.

Firstly, revert back to our old sky blue jersey, thats how we won the inaugural edition of World T20.
MS should revert back to his previous hairstyle with flowing locks.
Field positions should be based on Vaastu Shastra or Feng Shui, which will lessen the workload of MSD.
Cheerleaders at India matches should be South African or Ukrainian, like in the IPL. The Carribean ones dont seem to be bringing the best out of guys like Murali Vijay and Yusuf Pathan.

Can you suggest some other tactics or strategies which can be added in the proposal???

If you havent realised by now, this qn is asked in jest to lighten the mood of my fellow Indian fans. Too much gloom since yesterday…

The J factor:Ravinder Jadeja may be one of the most talented all-rounders in the country but he has been found wanting in the last two World Cups. Sent in at number three at Lords last year, he lost his team precious time by scoring at less than a run a ball. In the Caribbean he was woefully short on confidence and was hit for several sixes. He dropped crucial catches and once again scratched around with the bat.

Zaheer below par:India’s pace spearhead Zaheer Khan bowled well below his penetrative best and cost India extra runs. He went for over 40 runs in most matches. Ashish Nehra was more effective in the death overs but ploughed a lone furrow.

Short-pitch ball:The Indian team were unable to handle shot-pitch stuff from the quickies. India capitulated against fast bouncy deliveries and lost key wickets. They did not realise that with only two bouncers per over permitted they should have waited for length balls to hit.

Pitch related problems:The Indians played a predominantly spin oriented attack even at Barbados whereas the West Indian pitches seem to have regained their pace and bounce. Other teams like Australia and England banked heavily on their pace attacks and succeeded.

Strategic issues:By not practising together as a team between matches since ‘the players were tired’ and by not sending an advance party of the coach and players who were free from the last stage of the IPL they had little time to acclimatise.

Fat and unfit:Unfortunately for the team, two of its main batsmen, Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh were woefully out of form. Yuvraj was unlucky to see one or two good hits go straight to the fielders on the boundary, but Gambhir looked totally out-of-sorts. Coupled with the disastrous performances of Murali Vijay and Yusuf Pathan, this meant that India’s batting firepower was greatly diminished.

A conspiracy theory:
There was reportedly a conflict between Dhoni and Sehwag right before the 2009 version of T20 World Cup, and Sehwag was out with a shoulder injury. Dinesh Karthik from Tamil Nadu was selected to fill the spot.
And Sehwag missed quite a few series in the past year because of injuries.
This year, Sehwag will miss the T20 World Cup because of a shoulder injury (again). And Murali Vijay from Tamil Nadu (who also plays for CSK) will replace him. But I think Robin Uthappa was more consistent than Murali Vijay, and is a tailor-made player for T20 cricket. But his performance was overlooked.
Kris Srikkanth, the chairman of Selectors, is also Tamil Nadu, and is also a part of CSK administrative staff.

Nothing that happened during the IPL matches indicated that Sehwag was injured (or did I miss something?) and the news of the injury came in after DD played all their matches.

Do you think the conflict between Sehwag and Dhoni still exists and the shoulder injury is just an excuse to keep Sehwag away, and Kris Srikkanth is exploiting the situation by giving opportunities to players from his own backyard? Or is it just a conspiracy theory?

I don’t see any transparency in IPL awards 2010 as it has many surprising includes.
As a bowler Amith Mishra did extremely well,but Viney kumar,Z Khan and Ashwin went over him.And also Yousuf Pathan is in the list of best batsman,it’s hilarious.Yes true he played a blinder of fastest hundred,but i don’t think you can declare a batman as a "Best" by considering one performance,he failed through out the series apart from that ton.
And finally ,there is a award for most stylish player,don’t know what’s that means.Is that the style of batting and bowling or style of haircut and fashion.Most probably the second one,unless players like MS Dhoni cannot take a part of it while players like Mahela sitting out of it.So what’s your idea?

Gosh, I dont believe this. Why is Robin Uthappa not selected despite his solid performance in the IPL? And where is Badrinath? (And Murali Vijay as well, although he started performing late).

Well, can we ATLEAST have them being selected for the 2011 Cricket World Cup?

before start of play lot of opinions were created India is not safe for playing,we should not back ipl they are just for money,look at the biased reporting "Bollinger keeps Chennai’s IPL hopes up"look at the figures Doug Bollinger 4 1 15 2 , nothing about Ravichandran Ashwin 4 0 16 3 figures ,what did u say about this type of reporting .Those who are not playing IPL might have gnashing their teeth.

Busy slogging it out in the IPL right now, MS Dhoni and his men will not play any warm-up matches ahead of the ICC World T20.
"India have elected not to play any warm-up matches while Sri Lanka have opted to play only one warm-up match," the ICC said in a statement detailing the schedule of the practice games of other teams.

MS Dhoni fetched maximum votes (26%) for best ODI Batsman followed by Sachin and Ponting with 22% votes each.

54% of the respondents think IPL is not good for International cricket.

Total respondents were 4000.

tamim iqbal is on the top of his game, he is improving all the time and deserves to be in the ipl. which ipl team should sign him, imagine tamim and sehwag opening, too aggressive batsmen who go agressive from the start. tamim playing impressive against england and was about to be the fifth batsmen to get 100 before lunch until the umpire helped england out by getting him out which was the wrong decision. watch out for him in the t20 world cup at 21 he is already one of the best.

can ipl teams still bid for him for this years one
with tamim being bengali reckon kolkata kr would propably be a good option.
playing in the ipl he could learn from others with experience and become better as the bangladesh team are all young

In all three IPL matches so far,the matches took place between teams where one team had foriegn skipper and other an Indian.
All the result went in favour of the team whose Captains are Indians.No offense ,found it little interesting.
