they sent in today gambhir and dinesh to open the innings and neither of them is a big hitter. in a crucial game like this when india opted to bat they should be looking to score something close to 200 so that they might restrict lanka to 180 or so. i know it may also be possible if india scores like 170 they still can restrict lanka under 150, but why take chances.
the point i wanted to make is since india has big hitters like pathan, dhoni, yuvraj, rohit sharma, raina, they shoud be facing the maximum number of balls so that we can get maximum runs. now in my opinion gambhir’s 42 of 31 isnt good enough, well it may turn out it is good enough at the end of the match but i still feel india think-tank or management is just not giving enough balls to its big hitters.
in my opinion this should be the batting order of the indian team and its team composition.

A conspiracy theory:
There was reportedly a conflict between Dhoni and Sehwag right before the 2009 version of T20 World Cup, and Sehwag was out with a shoulder injury. Dinesh Karthik from Tamil Nadu was selected to fill the spot.
And Sehwag missed quite a few series in the past year because of injuries.
This year, Sehwag will miss the T20 World Cup because of a shoulder injury (again). And Murali Vijay from Tamil Nadu (who also plays for CSK) will replace him. But I think Robin Uthappa was more consistent than Murali Vijay, and is a tailor-made player for T20 cricket. But his performance was overlooked.
Kris Srikkanth, the chairman of Selectors, is also Tamil Nadu, and is also a part of CSK administrative staff.

Nothing that happened during the IPL matches indicated that Sehwag was injured (or did I miss something?) and the news of the injury came in after DD played all their matches.

Do you think the conflict between Sehwag and Dhoni still exists and the shoulder injury is just an excuse to keep Sehwag away, and Kris Srikkanth is exploiting the situation by giving opportunities to players from his own backyard? Or is it just a conspiracy theory?
