i have been with my boyfriend for a month and a half he is 24 and im 23. we made plans to hang out on the 4th of july which fell on one of his two days off a week. the plan for 3wks prior to the 4th was that we were going to spend it with his family at their pool and then see fireworks after. instead he chose to go an hour and a half away to East Boston to watch fireworks on a friends roof deck and smoke weed. i wasnt feeling to well and had a stomach ache so i was laying in bed when he called me he was already on his way to boston. so i told him to have fun and was being sweet about it to avoid and argument. at around 730 he told me if i wanted i could drive to boston and hang out with him and then drive him home in my car and his brother would take their car home later on in the evening. which didnt seem like a good deal to me since id spend the night driving. a half hour later i decided to go 20 minutes down the street to the beach and watch the fireworks my sister said she would be there. she never answered her phone so i watched the last 5 minutes of the fireworks with my friend matt who is like a brother to me since he lives on the beach.
my boyfriend has been livid these past 4 days and hasnt spoken to me at all. ive lost 10lbs from throwing up and having stomach problems because im so upset and anxious. ive tried to talk with him and he says i blew him off and didnt ask his permission to go to the beach. even though i believe he blew me off. he wont break up with me or even say a word hes just giving me the silent treatment

Jesus’ prayer to the Father prior to his crucifixion it is written: “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt” (Matt 26:39)
If Jesus was God, and the Father and the Son were not separate and distinct individuals, such a prayer would have been meaningless. In these many such instances where Jesus prays to God — or the Father — if they were one and the same, Jesus would have been praying to himself — and his will, would of necessity have been the Father’s will. Moreover, neither could God call his disciples his brothers, and make the statement: “Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God’” (John 20:17)

Logically this is not possible?

I still think they should have drafted the top left tackle in the draft, Russell Okung to help protect their young franchise QB. I will go to my grave thinking that would have been the right choice. LT is just too important of a posistion and DT is not that important if you get down to it. Don’t forget that first round DTs have a higher bust rate than ANY other posistion, even QB’s, and Suh is not 100% to be a star in the NFL. Of course none of this would be a problem if they drafted Mike Oher instead of taking a tight end (hows that working?), but whatever…

Keep in mind the Lions traded for Corey Williams prior to the draft and had Sammie Lee Hill, who looked awesome as a rookie playing DT, so it wasn’t a glaring weakness on their roster. Meanwhile the have Jeff Backus protecting Matt Stafford… Yikes.

If you want to see how much of an impact an elite DT has on your team, look no further than the 1990’s Seattle Seahawks. Cortez Kennedy may be the best DT to ever play the game, he has every career honor that can be given to an individual defender in the NFL. But how did his team fare with out a viable QB, or LT? As good as Kennedy was, he never, nor will any DT ever, have the ability to turn a season around for a team.

This is fact. Detroit dropped the ball big time. They better hope Stafford doesn’t contract David Carr/Marc Bulger syndrome by the time the 2011 draft rolls around, where they can hopefully get him the left tackle he deserves.
BTW, by drafting Okung they would have upgraded 2 spots on their offensive line, by having Okung play LT and sliding Backus over to play guard which suits his skills better anyway.
Good point Tanner. I forgot that Detroit has to face Jared Allen, Clay Matthews, AND Julius Peppers for a total of 6 games next year. They should just bench Stafford to protect him.

Ok well i’ve had primary custody of my 4 kids 11 years from 1st wife. She abandoned us wen our twins were 9 months. And was out of their life for 5 years. I was married again 4 years ago. That didnt work last year. I decided to move where I work the last 15 years. Kids didnt want to leave friends school mom, but i made them come along. After about a month we were here i learned my youngest had been lying to me and teachers about completeing assignments. So I went to school and brought all his material home for the weekend to catch up. On friday night while i mafde supper he just sat there in space. on purpose. Got to point i got angry and slapped him up backside of head sayin concentrate matt, get to it. And we ate. I helped him get some done afterwards. Then we called it a night about 830 and watched some tv. Next day after chores i sat him down to work on books again. same case senario… blank and refusing. I grabbed him by bak of neck and pushed his head toward book and said you need to concentrate on getting caught up. we worked together that afternoon. he even interviewed me for a family thing. basically he had gotten all caught up and rest of day was spent doing other things. come sunday i looked over his work once again… he needed to complete more… in which we took care of with no issue. that night i watched football. drank a few beers…maybe got a bit tipsy…then off to bed we all went. Started the workweek as normal. On Tuesday eve about 5pm my boss said I gotta go home the police are there. I rushed home. They told me of charges of abuse being filed and arrested me. The kids were removed. There was never a mark or bruise on Matt. Just their malicious statements from the kids they saw marks on his neck. Apparently that went away within an hour on Saturday cuz I never saw them. Now I got a trial comin up on this. Can it really go far with no real evidence but only kids wanting to go back to where we came from cuz life was easier there? Currently I have granted their wishes giving their mom primary custody and tired of the hassle of the accusations untrue. It really was a conspiracy simply. social workers played right into. I simply say Im done bein a fulltime parent and I dont deserve this punishment. Most parents I speak to say is that all you did? Cuz Id be in jail too. lol. What will happen? I have no prior physical abuse foundings against me.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame opened its doors with a star-studded ceremony showcasing many of its stars.

Missing from last week’s events were Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. — the “big dogs” of today’s NASCAR

Gordon, Johnson, Stewart and Matt Kenseth were the only three active Cup champions missing from the ceremony. Earnhardt, NASCAR’s most popular driver and a two-time champion in NASCAR’s second-tier series, wasn’t there despite the upcoming induction of his father.

Their absence did not go unnoticed. Petty, a seven-time champion and NASCAR’s all-time winningest driver, thought their absence was wrong.

“A lot of these drivers that are doing pretty well today don’t realize what some of the guys went through to get it to this point,” Petty said last weekend. “A lot of us old timers look back and hope that the guys that are doing it now appreciate what the guys did who laid the groundwork.”

All four champions had various reasons for missing the ceremony. Gordon cited a prior commitment and Johnson said he was on one final vacation with his wife before the couple welcomes their first child this summer. The slumping Stewart was testing with his team in Virginia, while a spokesman for Earnhardt said there had been confusion as to which events the driver was to attend.

This Hall of Fame is cherished — and long overdue — to the hundreds of drivers who never got rich, to the mechanics who traded families for race cars, and to the owners who poured every last dime into their pursuit of Victory Lane. Without the France Family, there is no NASCAR. Without Petty, there is no Dale Earnhardt or Jeff Gordon. Without Gordon, there is no Jimmie Johnson.

There wasn’t supposed to be any confusion about the importance of this week, either.

Maybe the Hall of Fame goofed in its scheduling, and its gala could have been held Tuesday night. Driver attendance has improved over the last several years at the Wednesday night Pit Crew Competition, so maybe the induction ceremony should be Thursday evening, when everyone is in town and has few legitimate excuses to miss the event.

Or maybe it shouldn’t matter what day the ceremony is held. Everybody at one time or another has been dragged somewhere. “But, Mom! I don’t want to go Aunt Myrtle’s house! All my friends are going swimming!”

We’ve all begrudgingly bypassed a fun day with friends. Sometimes we do what we do — or what we’re told — because it’s the right thing

I don’t think you are understanding my question. These guys souldn’t have to be told to be there. They should (on a personal level) want to go on their own to honor and respect the men and women who built this sport to what it is.

I rarely see these in pictures, but it appears units like Navy SEALs have small paperworks attached to their weapons…usually in a pouch on the cheek rest of their stocks. It looks like map, note, or checklist…or some other kind of readily available reference…like ballistic calculations.

The picture below of the Red Wing SEALs shows what I’m talking about. Look at their gun stocks. One is barely seen on Matt Axelson’s (1st from left), on James Suh’s (3rd from left), Marcus Luttrell’s (4th), and Eric Patton’s (5th). RIP men.

A Statement from Matt and Trey: In the 14 years we’ve been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn’t stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn’t some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle’s customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn’t mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We’ll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we’ll see what happens to it."
