I am sure he is good enough to represent any other team in the world

Yes, he is a talented player, more than even Virat Kohli. He is now consistent enough to remain in the side though. But, he is way ahead of Wriddhimaan Saha who was selected for the first test against RSA……I don’t know why.
He is a better wicketkeeper(and batsman) than most teams’ like Matt Prior, Kamran Akmal, Brad Haddin……..but he gets a chance only when Dhoni is away.

He is a good player but I don’t consider him unlucky just because of Sachin, Sehwag and Gambhir.
He has got many good opportunities to prove his mettle over the years bt somehow he has not made use of them. In that sense, yeah he is extremely unlucky.

Some great players have to fight for places like this. Not only Karthik but Raina, Cheteshwar Pujara aand many others like him also are sailing in the same boat. Even the great leg spinner Padmakar Shivalkar could not find a place in the Indian as he has to fight for a place along the greatspin quartet - Bishen/Venkat/Prasanna and Chandra. Sometimes this happen.

There are lots of talented batsman in India. Dinesh Karthik is a lot better batsman than any Sri Lankan batsman

Can he get a place in team Australia or SA. The answer is no thats why he is not in starting XI of team india. He can definately start for any team except the top 3 sides in the world. We are looking to become the best side in the world and for that good is not enough we need excellant players. SRT,Sehwag,Gambhir,Yuvi,MSD are excellant players and we need players of that level.
Karthick is a backup player and they too have an important role to play.As injuries can come to any player anytime.

valid question.. i think he shuld b a part of indian circket team on a regulaar bases i dont knw y he is nt ther may b cuz of dhoni and sewags cold war
